Issue two being re-inked and re-colored

^^ This is page one as it was originally created. It's much more in the style of how the first issue was done.

^^ This is the page one re-inked and re-colored. You can clearly see the difference. The result is a similar, but more refined style. It's cleaner and not as dark. Colors by Anthony Lofton.

Cover update 2

Here's the pose we chose. Also, Damani thinks I made the Samaritan chrome to punish him for something he did to me in another life. Well... there may be SOME truth to that. He does draw my own character BETTER than me!!!

Variant poses...

Above are variations on what the cover for The Cosmic Samaritan # 2 might appear in the final. We're still deciding on which pose is best. Illustrations by Damani Hughes.

Update on issue # 2

Finally, a NEW blog entry! I know it's been a while since my last post, but believe me, it was for GOOD reason.

Right now, I'm hard at work on The Cosmic Samaritan # 2. This time however, I'm not working alone. I've brought along some fresh new talent to help with the next installment.

Enter Damani Hughes, a good friend of mine who's illustrating the cover for issue 2. You've seen his work before. Damani was the first to submit Cosmic Samaritan fan art. In the pics above, he's digitally coloring his original drawing. Keep checking for updates later this week to see how this sucker looks in color! It's some of his best work ever. Seriously.

And meet Anthony Lofton. I posted a while back that Anthony would be the colorist for book two. Here he is on the job in the last two pics. In the coming months, I'll be posting updates on our progress. We're working hard to make sure issue two tops the original. Until next time, my peeps!

Stay blessed,

New review from Independent Propaganda

Matt Butcher of Independent Propraganda has given The Cosmic Samaritan # 1 his thumbs up!

"We all believe in heroes. That’s why we read comic books. We follow the exploits of our favorite superheroes religiously. We all know the parallels between Superman and Christianity. It’s about time that a superhero was created who was given power to act as God’s right hand on earth."

Click the header above to read the rest of his review.

Special thanks to Mr. Butcher.

New review from The Gothic Times

Feedback on The Cosmic Samaritan # 1 continues to be really good. Here's a sample of what The Gothic Times newspaper had to say:

"Austin's first publication can be the beginning of a flourishing saga, with a great potential to become this generation's new comic book fixation and a Christian cartoon classic."

1st review for The Cosmic Samaritan

By John McD.

I recently purchased The Cosmic Samaritan, and was most glad that I did. The writing was outstanding, and the art (esp. the coloring) was superb!
